Why?
We created Project X Detroit because we believe in the next generation of Black youth creators in our city.
Through HersheKissis, we’ve spent nearly a decade building a platform — now with over 200,000 followers — and we don’t want to keep that spotlight to ourselves. It’s time to share it.
Detroit has never lacked talent. The city is overflowing with it — from music and art to writing, streaming, skateboarding, and more. What Detroit has lacked is visibility, structure, and safe spaces for youth to come together, showcase their creativity, and shine on a bigger stage.
That’s what Project X Detroit is all about:
✨ A stage for youth creators to share their light.
✨ A safe, structured space where community and creativity thrive.
✨ A celebration of Detroit talent that deserves to be seen and recognized.
This is more than a concert. It’s a movement to uplift, connect, and inspire Detroit’s youth.
That’s why we built Project X Detroit. WITNESS IT!
🔥 Bring the energy. Be hype for every single performer — cheer loud, dance, sing along, and show love.
🙌 Support all performers. Every artist on stage deserves your respect and energy. They’re giving their all — give it back.
🛍️ Support the movement. This is a fundraiser. Buy food, grab merch, and help keep events like this alive.
💵 Support your performers financially. Ticket sales help pay the artists — your presence and purchases directly uplift them.
🤝 Respect the staff. From security to volunteers to organizers — everyone’s working hard to make this safe and fun. Show them love.
✨ Respect everyone. Treat fellow guests and community members with kindness.
🚫 Follow the rules. No smoking. No drinking. No exceptions.
👀 Be aware. This is an all-ages event, which means youth under 18 will be present. Stay mindful, respectful, and safe.
📸 Capture the memories. Take photos, post them, and tag the performers + Nexodus. Spread the love online!
🕺 Have fun. This is a space to celebrate Detroit talent. Enjoy yourself and contribute to the vibe.
🚫 Do not bring substances. No alcohol, no vapes, no smoking, no weed, no drugs. This is not that type of party. Wayne State is a no-smoking campus and security will be checking at the door. If you bring it, you may be asked to leave.
🚫 Do not come underage. If you’re under 16, this event is not for you. Please respect the age limit.
🚫 Do not boo performers. If somebody slips up, we encourage them — we don’t tear them down. This is a supportive space only.
🚫 Do not get wild inappropriately. No twerking battles, no sexual acts, no degrading women, no harassment — period. That energy does not belong here.
🚫 Do not cause chaos. No throwing food, no throwing drinks, no throwing anything. Respect the space and the people in it.
🚫 Do not disrespect staff, security, or performers. Everyone here is working hard or sharing their art. Treat them with respect.
🚫 Do not ignore safety. Be aware of your surroundings. Don’t crowd people, push people, or invade personal space.
🚫 Do not kill the vibe. This is a celebration of Detroit talent. Bring love and positivity, not negativity.
