HersheKissis is an Instagram trio of three sisters--Karis, Kady, and Klir--with a combined following of over a quarter million across social media. What started as a journey of self-expression quickly grew into a movement. When Karis first asked our mom if she could create content to share her voice, our mom had one simple idea: “Why not do it with your sisters? Three is better than one.” That’s how HersheKissis was born.
From the very beginning, our mission has been clear: to uplift and inspire Black youth—especially Black girls—through everything we create. Whether it’s our videos, live performances, or community work, we’re committed to spreading joy, confidence, and creativity. But, our impact goes beyond social media. Together, we lead the Marriage and Fatherhood Fund, our family’s organization dedicated to strengthening Black families. Within the Fund, we host Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Peace, a podcast celebrating the beauty and brilliance of Black family life, and the Heartbeat Bridge Media Project, an initiative amplifying stories that matter.
HersheKissis also plays a key role in Detroit’s cultural scene. We co-own Pages Bookstore, perform across the city, and are actively working with Councilwoman Mary Waters and the City of Detroit on the NextUp 313 program. Most recently, we launched Nexodus, a creative hub. Through every project, HersheKissis remains rooted in Detroit—always using our platform to connect, uplift, and inspire.
HersheKissis is more than just a social media trio—we’re trailblazers in Detroit. It’s rare to see three young sisters from the city building something this big together, and even rarer to see it rooted right here at home. With over 200,000 followers, we stand among some of Detroit’s biggest names—but unlike many, we’re still here, living in and working with the community every day.
We’ve performed across the city, partnered with organizations like Total Access, and collaborated directly with the City of Detroit on initiatives that impact our neighborhoods. But our vision doesn’t stop with our own platform.
That’s why we launched Nexodus. We know how difficult it is to get recognition in Detroit as a young Black creative—especially without a strong support system. Nexodus is our way of sharing the platform we’ve built. Our mission is to find the smallest creators—the ones often overlooked—and give them a full 360 boost. Through Nexodus, we create opportunities for new voices to gain an audience, showcase their talents, and finally experience what it feels like to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
At the core, our involvement is about one thing: uplifting Black youth. We’re rooting for you, we’re building with you, and we’re committed to helping you rise as high as you dream.
For us, the answer is simple: it’s time.
We’ve felt a clear calling from God to branch out—not just to keep shining on our own, but to open the doors for others. Too often, people climb the ladder of success only to pull it up behind them. Our vision is different. Why not leave the ladder there, steady and secure, so that others can climb too?
Some might say we’re giving too much away. Some might say that if everyone makes it to the top, then the “top” doesn’t exist anymore. But we believe the opposite: there’s room for all of us. Success doesn’t have to be gatekept—it can be shared.
And there’s an urgency right now. Detroit is overflowing with Black talent—people we grew up with, classmates, neighbors, creators in our own community—who deserve more recognition than they’re getting. If we have the reach, the platform, and the ability to amplify their voices, why wouldn’t we?
This is why now. The moment has arrived to stop asking what’s next for us, and start creating what’s next for everyone.
